Growing Our Church

One of the key goals found in the Parish Profile and Rector’s Search is to grow our church. From conversations, I have found this is a desire to increase membership AND bring in new families AND create more personal connections AND fill the pews on Sunday mornings. Those are not all mutually exclusive. They are connected and hopeful. All churches should be concerned with these areas. Holy Innocents’ is right to focus not just on growth but on the specifics of what that means and how it can challenge us in new and exciting ways.

I am therefore overjoyed to announce that an anonymous donation has been received by the Vestry to hire a part-time Assistant for Children’s Ministries. This new role in our community will directly report to Megan Petenbrink our Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. In hiring a person to focus on Children’s Ministries, Holy Innocents’ can help Megan to focus on Youth and growing the entire program.

My hope and plan is that we hire someone in the next three to four months to help us grow our Children’s Ministries, help us reach out and connect with the school programs, and help organize us to care for our children from birth through 5th grade. What a great time to be at Holy Innocents’ and to be part of a community ready to grow!
