It's me, it's me, it's me, O Lord, Standin' in the need of prayer.

One of the best kept secrets in Holy Innocents’ is the Oratory of the Holy Family.  If you don’t know what that is or where it is, you are not alone.  The Oratory of the Holy Family is the small room to the left of the chapel just down that hallway.  Oratory is from the Latin oratorium which means “a place of prayer.”  Our Oratory is a chapel set aside for private and small group prayer.  The only issue is that few know it exists much less feel invited to enter and seek God, Father, Son, or Holy Spirit.  This is something we want to change.

Not my brother or my sister, but it's me, O Lord, Standin' in the need of prayer.

Whether you are a lifelong Episcopalian, just entered the church last week, or are seeking a way to find God, you need a place to pray and you need prayer.  Church should be a place where this happens regularly. Sadly, not every church chooses to make this a priority. If Holy Innocents wishes to grow and thrive, then we need to connect again with the Creator who tended the first garden and continues to care for the world.

Not my mother or my father, but it's me, O Lord, Standin' in the need of prayer.

Beginning on Monday, September 10, 2018, the clergy and staff of Holy Innocents’ will pray every day at 11:30 am in the Oratory of the Holy Family.  To be specific, we will pray for every member of our church family by name between September 2018 and May 2019. We will also pray for every child in our school by name. We will also pray for every teacher, administrator, and staff member of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. We will pray for some 3,800 souls that call our campus home this year.

Not my stranger or my neighbor, but it's me, O Lord, Standin' in the need of prayer.

And YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN IN PRAYER! If you have time, Monday through Friday at 11:30AM, please come and pray with us. If midday is a difficult time, then feel free to come anytime from 8AM to 6PM and pray in the Oratory of the Holy Family. We will have the names and an order of worship available in the chapel around the clock.  We want this space to be part of our spiritual home at Holy Innocents’. We want everyone to know that this community will be praying for YOU- because we all are standin’ in the need of prayer.
