Taken from the Latin mandatum or commandment, the service recalls Christ’s commandment to love one another, his startling action to wash our feet, and then the transition to betrayal and the arrest. The service begins at 6:00 PM in the Nave and concludes with the stripping of the altar just as Christ was left alone by those around him. All leave the church in silence. The service will be live-streamed.
