Joy in Serving

“Why do you look for the living among the dead?”

This is the Great Mystery of Easter. The God of the universe came to earth, fully experienced the hardships of embodied life, and then willingly walked the way of the cross. It gave us the wisdom and power of God, the fruit of the spirit, and comfort in our afflictions. We have been brought out of death and into life. And so, we might ask, what’s next? What do we do with this new great life?

Jesus answered this when someone asked, “What is the greatest commandment?” He replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-38). It is our collective duty to care for our community and, in doing so, become beacons of God’s light in the world. We shine out in the darkness and proclaim the Mystery of Easter with our whole being.

With great joy, we serve our children, youth, and the wider community. We invite you to partner with us this Easter season in showing love to our neighbor. As we prepare for Holy Week & Easter, we pray that God will speak to all of our hearts to strengthen and multiply our efforts so that all our neighbors will feel the presence and love of our church family.
