All Church Event Outreach
Holy Innocents, St. James Methodist, Cathedral of St. Philip, St. Martin in the Fields, and St. Luke’s Presbyterian are sponsoring Atlanta Habitat for Humanity’s summer faith build. All adult parishioners and teens 16 and older are invited to participate. No skills are required, just the desire to help an Atlanta family buy a home at a very affordable price.
Habitat for Humanity Requirements
- All volunteers are required to register online individually. Each volunteer will complete our Release and Waiver form during the registration process.
- Registered volunteers will receive automated confirmation and reminder emails with a link to the Volunteer Information Packet and directions to the build site.
- The minimum age required to volunteer is 16 years old. Volunteers ages 16 and 17 must print their Release and Waiver form and bring it to the build site with a parent or guardian's signature.
- HI has 5 volunteer slots each Saturday. Please register at least 1 week prior to the build date. If our slots are full when you register, you will be put on a waitlist in case the other churches don’t fill their slots.
Habitat 2024 Build Schedule
Day 1- Saturday, May 11
- Build exterior and interior wall frames in the Atlanta Habitat warehouse, 824 Memorial Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
Day 2 – Saturday, May 18
- Set floor joists and lay floor decking
- Apply sheathing to wall panels
- Install exterior and interior walls
- Install front porch deck, columns, and beams
- Build side porch and stairs
Saturday, May 25 off day
Day 3 – Saturday, June 1
- Install exterior doors and security doors
- windows and trim packages
- exterior trim and siding
- exterior steps
Day 4 – Saturday, June 8
- Interior framing and air seal
- Complete siding installation
- Install soffit and fascia boards
Day 5 - Saturday, June 15
- Interior Trim
- Interior Doors
- Install soffit and metal
- Exterior Painting
Day 6 - Saturday, June 22
- Install porch handrails
- Interior doors
- Kitchen cabinets
- Continue soffit and fascia board
Day 7 – Saturday, June 29
- Exterior painting
- Install baseboards, window sills, and interior trim
- doorknobs and bathroom hardware
Day off – Saturday, July 6
Day 8 – Saturday, July 13
- Clean the interior of the house
- Touch-up painting
- Complete miscellaneous tasks
- Remove construction debris from the property
- Install landscape materials (sod, plants, trees, etc.)
- Dedication Day
- On the final day of construction, house sponsors and volunteers join the new homebuyer family to dedicate the new home.

- Now that you are logged in choose the date(s) you would like to sign up for and click the green “Sign up” button. Alternatively, click “join waitlist” if the build is currently full. If someone cancels, you will automatically be moved into their spot.
- Complete all the steps of the registration process including the waivers.
- Click “finish.”
- Now you’re registered!
