
Renee Stephens
Director of Membership and Children's Ministries
Renee was born in Shiprock, New Mexico, on the Navajo reservation to a military family. After several moves, her family settled in Gwinnett County. Renee holds a BA in Religious Studies and a Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology.
During seminary, Renee served at the United Methodist Church of the Way as part of the student ministry team and the creative visioning team. She also assisted in program development for underprivileged women and children in Tondo, Philippines, served as a chaplain at Gwinnett Medical, and most recently ministered to the children and youth at St. Mary and St. Martha Episcopal Church, where she trained as a Godly Play teacher.
Renee has a special interest in childhood spiritual formation, early Christian history, and monastic theology. She is passionate about nurturing the spiritual growth of children and exploring the rich traditions of early Christianity and monastic practices.
Renee and her two young children love spending time together doing puzzles, playing board games, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
